Brief
Redesign existing listings website comprehensive, centralised, one-stop,
easy to use, national listings product for planning out of home entertaiment
via the BBC website.
STRATEGY
Listings information is available throughout the BBCi site across regional
sites and interactive TV services. However the majority of this information
is prepared at a local level in a manner which cannot be automatically
shared across the UK resulting in duplication, inconsistencies and uneconomical
use of resources.
The proposal seeks to create a centralised listings ‘hub’
which can be syndicated out to a local level, shaing development costs
and collectively reaping benefits.
Positions BBCi as a unique provider of comprehensive listings to a local
level.

SOLUTION
An experience similar to going into a travel agent where an assistant
will act as a friendly intermediary between a vast database of information
and the user. The assistant guides the user to the information they need
by asking questions to define what is needed. We call this concept an
'experience agent'.
RESULT
The intensely user centred design approach and iterative usability testing
resulted in a 10 fold increase in traffic compared to the former site
within 4 months of launch.
